Samantha's new hangout room

Tim converted Kara's playroom into Samantha's new hangout room.  Samantha was allowed to pick out the new wall color, and she picked orange.  We took the TV and computer out of Samantha's bedroom, along with the sleeper sofa from the basement, and put them into the new room.  Tim purchased two pieces of plexiglass, and turned them into dry erase boards for Samantha to write on.  We also hung the collage of Kara's photographs that Samantha designed to honor her little sister.

Skiing

Early in January, Tim took Samantha and her friend, Kacy, snow skiing for the first time.  Samantha and Kacy both loved it...even though it was very cold!  The girls had a beginning ski lesson, and did very well.  Kathy went shopping with her sisters, because snow and cold weather are definitely not her idea of fun.

The Mustang

Samantha's Nana, (Kathy's mom), got a new Ford Mustang for Christmas from Santa. It's a very nice car, and Samantha really likes it. So...Nana and Samantha have made a deal. If Samantha maintains good grades her freshman year of college (as usual), has a good attitude, and is a respectful child...then Nana will give the Mustang to Samantha! We all think this is a pretty good deal! Take note of Samantha's big smile in the pictures taken with the Mustang.

Three plus an angel--our new blog

Welcome to our new blog.  As the title states, there are three of us, Tim, Kathy, & Samantha, plus our precious angel, Kara.  Our youngest daughter, Kara, died unexpectedly on December 26, 2009, and is now in heaven with God.  While her physical body is gone, the wonderful impact that she made in the lives of our family and friends will always be present.  We documented Kara’s life in our original blog, http://karaannelang.blogspot.com/, from the weeks before her birth until she went to heaven.

This new blog will continue our family’s journey, and provide our extended family and friends the opportunity to share in our life.
